The last time the team at Everything Olds gathered at the office in Uptowne, we asked ourselves… how can we best serve the community?
The general consensus was that the best thing we could do was “keep the porch light on”, for the community as a whole. One place we know we can be of solid support is for our business community.
Small businesses are either closed, pivoting, or adjusting how they are doing business while remaining open. (Be sure to update your status by clicking the red bar below!)
Yes, there are webinars available for asking questions and getting information on government programs. However, we wanted to have some “kitchen table talks” with our local businesses.
To that end, Everything Olds Entrepreneurship Centre is opening up a virtual café for local business owners to come together and discuss how they are adjusting and maneuvering through this COVID-19 episode.
The first virtual Zoom Café was held on April 7 to determine how we could support one another, what questions they had for us and for each other, and what other opportunities were available for them.
What did we learn?
Local businesses are determined. They are resilient. They are adapting.
They need local, loyal customers. Some need time to make changes.
They wanted to have weekly Café discussions going forward. Small, close groups who could build trusting relationships and share openly with one another.
Zoom Café will take place Monday mornings at 8:30 am. Register below, and watch your email for the Zoom link and topic outline.

Alberta has started to re-open. This is good news for many. Others are still fearful.
