Olds Farmers' Market

The Olds Regional Exhibition hosts one of over 125 Approved Farmers' Markets in Alberta. The Olds Farmers Market is every Thursday between mid-May and the end of September from 3:30 - 6:30 pm at the Big Rack Cow Palace Event Center in Olds Alberta. This Market facilitates direct market access for community-based entrepreneurs who make, bake, or grow the products they sell. The beauty of this Market is that is provides a direct contact for consumers to producers. Consumers can talk to the person who grew the carrots, raised the chicken, baked the bread, produced the jam, or knit the sweater. Farmers' markets are the Number 1 Ag Tourism Attraction in the province. The Olds Market provides a great shopping experience where our guests can "savour time rather than save time". Free our Finest- Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

On June 22nd and 23rd, 2019, the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta and Olds Walmart at 6900 – 46th St. will partner for Free Our Finest to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics. The Walmart location will be host to one officer being locked up for the entire weekend to show their dedication and commitment to Special Olympics. A flagship fundraising event for the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta, Free Our Finest is a unique way for law enforcement to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics. Special Olympics has a way of bringing everyone together and building communities of acceptance. This weekend Walmart gives back to the law enforcement community, just as the law enforcement community gives back to Special Olympics. Members of the public will be able to take in demonstrations, meet athletes and officers on site, and purchase merchandise. Donations will be accepted. Internationally the Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest grassroots fundraiser and awareness vehicle for Special Olympics. Last year in Alberta, over $600,000 was raised across the province, benefiting local programs, and providing transportation to competitions. Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society is excited to announce the upcoming group H.E.A.R.T(HEALING, EXPRESSION, ART, RESPECT and TRANSFORMATION). This is a 6 week group which will be offered every Monday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm starting May 20, 2019 ending June 24th 2019. This group is for both women and children. Women will have the opportunity to walk on a path of self love and discovery. Some examples of the sessions will include, canvas painting, incorporating self-care into our everyday lives and developing journals. Children will have the opportunity to attend a structured group with their own facilitator, in their own setting. This will include a movement exercise, artistic exercise (string art, dream catcher making and painting etc.). This group is expected to fill up quickly!
